NEW PROJECT: Menno Hall

SHAPE Architecture is pleased to announce that an Informational Open House will be held tonight for the Menno Hall proposal with MCC and PCDA—an exciting place for students, residents, and academics to live, reflect, and study in a purpose-built new development at the Gateway to the UEL. The project will benefit the wider community by providing a special place which integrates living, faith, and learning through a considered approach to urban design, landscape, and the public realm.

The proposal is comprised of a mid-rise 4 to 6-storey mixed use Institutional space for Peace Studies, Student Rental Housing, and Rental Housing which creates housing opportunities for the missing middle. Consistent with the core planning principles underpinning the newly adopted Area D Plan (local area policy for the neighbourhood), the project will be a model of sustainable development with its utilization of mass timber, green roof + rainwater management, and energy efficiency meeting Step-Code 4.

As part of the formal consultation period, this Informational Open House will be an opportunity to share further details about the proposal and solicit feedback. We welcome all to come out and meet our team in-person!
