Guildford Aquatic Centre

Conceived of as a “Gateway Project” to the City of Surrey this 64,000 square foot expansion to the existing Guildford Recreation Centre will change the way the public conceives of recreation aquatics. The theme for the new Guildford Aquatic Centre is water in all of its forms as a regenerative catalyst for the community.

The 33,000 square foot Natatorium will accommodate leisure swimming, recreational swimming and a 50 m competitive lap pool with a 12.5 m movable floor and two bulkheads. SHAPE Architecture designed this state-of-the-art new facility together with internationally-recognized Revery Architecture (formerly Bing Thom Architects). As lead aquatics designers, SHAPE Architecture was responsible for the design and delivery of the pools, change rooms, staff areas and associated service spaces.
