Intermediate Architectural Technologist
Job description
We currently have an opportunity for an Intermediate Architectural Technologist who brings graphics, drafting, and BIM expertise—primarily in Revit. As an Architectural Technologist, you will be the front lines of architectural drafting and coordination for projects in SD, DD, CD and CA phases. You will work per SHAPE’s Drawing Standards and the project’s BIM Execution Plan. You will act as a primary point of contact in the coordination of Consultant’s BIM models at key stages. The position is full time, in person from our office.
What you bring to SHAPE Architecture
An Architectural Technology Diploma or Architecture Degree
A minimum of four years of experience as an architectural technologist
Proficiency in Revit and an understanding of coordination with AutoCAD based consultants
The ability to contribute to work in a variety of sectors, including Residential, Mixed-Used, Recreational, and Institutional
Competency in the full suite of Construction Document drawings, including envelope detailing
Excellent understanding of the Vancouver Building Bylaw, BC Building Code and the Municipal Zoning Regulations.
CanBIM registration presents an advantage

What the position entails
Working with a team of architects and intern architects to deliver project documentation requirements through all project phases
Understanding office standards for drafting and documentation
Storyboarding suites of architectural drawings at SD, DD, and CD phase
Managing progress of drawing completion relative to project schedules
Ensuring coordination between Drawings and Specifications
Ownership of the completeness of architectural drawings assigned
BIM modelling interfacing with Prefabricated workflows
Assistance with Contract Administration by providing drafting updates that may be required for Supplemental Instructions
Compensation
Negotiated based on Experience.
