Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre Expansion Interiors

The innovation and elegance behind the new Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre Expansion lies in its integration of expanded and enhanced programming within an existing building. The project is designed with equity and inclusion at the fore to ensure an appealing social hub and community destination which is multi-generational, comfortable and flexible for mixed use.

Two childcare components are also included in this project. The first component is a preschool run by the City as part of the Community Centre, which includes two 20 child all-day care facilities for preschool aged children. The second component is somewhat independent from the Community Centre and is run by Metis Family Services, which includes a 12 child space for ages 0 to 3 years old and a 20 child space for ages 3 to 5 years of age. Both components share a rooftop play space.

SHAPE Architecture provided Interior Design and signage as an integrated service with the Architectural Design of the Facility.
