SHAPE Architecture undertook two renovation projects with the City of Burnaby to program and re-imagine their aging library infrastructure. Work at the Bob Prittie Metrotown Library included a full lobby renovation, renewal of adjacent back of house spaces, and integration of a new RFID check-out system.
Critical to the design was the creation of a more inviting open and bright entry allowing patrons to engage with Library staff. Alec Smith worked closely with library staff to implement their vision for the library as a vital energized cultural space.
