SHAPE Architecture has recently submitted a rezoning application for the Vancouver Masonic Centre located at 1495 W 8th Avenue. The proposal is a mixed-use building including the new Vancouver Masonic Centre, an 18-storey secured rental housing building.

The Museum of Vancouver and the Vancouver Urbanarium Society has curated an exhibition which explores, debates, postulates, and even criticizes our city. Your Future Home: Creating the New Vancouver deploys diverse media contributed by various architecture studios from Vancouver, and has organized a number of events to explore the issues. SHAPE Architecture’s submission provides a visual narrative of “your home” in the greater context of Vancouver’s current and future neighbourhoods. Our proposal includes physical models of three different zoning districts in Vancouver to focus on the theme of density. The three sites of choice currently contain a planned or built SHAPE Architecture project, which demonstrates a unique strategy for densification. Each includes a rich and varied pedestrian scale with the addition of courtyard spaces and activated streetscapes and/or laneways.
